Job summary

Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Hamden, Connecticut, is seeking a Recreation Aide to enhance residents' quality of life through engaging activities, arts and crafts, games, and outings in collaboration with the Recreation Therapy department.

You will plan and implement individualized activity plans, support socialization and mental stimulation, and maintain accurate records while working with a caring team to create a welcoming, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in healthcare or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents with mobility impairments (with assistance as needed).

As a Recreation Aide at Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing creative and engaging recreational activities.

About the Role

As a Recreation Aide, you will have the opportunity to plan, organize, and implement various recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and outings, to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well‑wellness among our residents. You will work closely with the Recreation Therapy department to develop and implement individualized recreational plans that cater to the unique needs and interests of each resident.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and outings
• Provide one-on-one and group activities to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being

Requirements
