Job summary

Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Hamden, Connecticut, is seeking a Recreation Aide to enhance residents' quality of life through engaging activities, arts and crafts, games, and outings in collaboration with the Recreation Therapy department.

You will plan and implement individualized activity plans, support socialization and mental stimulation, and maintain accurate records while working with a caring team to create a welcoming, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in healthcare or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents with mobility impairments (with assistance as needed).

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and outings.
• Provide one-on-one and group activities to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and caregivers to understand their needs and preferences.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of recreational programs and services.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of recreational activities and resident participation.
