Job summary

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Recreation Aid to enhance the daily life of residents in our New Haven, CT skilled nursing facility. The role is full-time and focused on designing engaging activities for seniors in a compassionate setting.

The successful candidate will plan and execute a calendar of events, document participation, and collaborate with care teams to ensure a vibrant, person-centered activity program while complying with regulations and facility

• Experience with seniors or in a healthcare setting is a plus.
• Must be very organized and able to lead others.
• Positive, outgoing, upbeat personality is a must.
• Be self-directed with strong planning and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and lead a wide variety of recreational activities and events.
• Prepare a monthly activity calendar posted publicly and shared with residents.
• Maintain documentation and record resident participation/attendance.
• Conduct regular entertainment, parties, seasonal programs and special events.
• Ensure facility decorations match holidays/seasons.
• Adhere to facility policies and state/federal regulations.

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is actively seeking a Recreation Aid to work full-time for our Skilled Nursing Facility located in New Haven CT. The ideal candidate will have experience in a long-term healthcare setting and excellent customer service skills.

Job:

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is actively seeking a Recreation Aid to work full-time for our Skilled Nursing Facility located in New Haven CT. The ideal candidate will have experience in a long-term healthcare setting and excellent customer service skills.

Duties:

• Plans, organizes and leads a wide variety of recreational activities/programs including, but not limited to music, arts, crafts, discussions, parties, social groups, trips, special events and entertainment, active and passive games, sensory type activities, movies, bingo, etc.
• Prepares a monthly calendar of activities that is posted in prominent areas and provided to every resident
• Ensures that all documentation requirements are met
• Develops a system to record resident participation / attendance
• Conducts regular entertainment, parties, seasonal programs and special events
• Ensures that facility is appropriately decorated as per the holiday/season
• Adheres to all facility and policies in accordance to State and Federal regulations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience working with Seniors and/or in a healthcare setting a plus.
• Must be very organized and have the ability to lead others.
• Positive, outgoing, upbeat personality is a must.
• Be self-directed; have strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task.
