Job summary

Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Recreation Aide to plan, organize, and implement engaging activities for residents. You will collaborate with the Recreation Therapy department to tailor programs to individual interests and mobility needs.

Responsibilities include coordinating arts and crafts, games, and outings, providing both group and one-on-one activities, and maintaining records of participation and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in healthcare or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents with mobility impairments (with assistance as needed).

As a Recreation Aide at Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing creative and engaging recreational activities.

About the Role

As a Recreation Aide, you will have the opportunity to plan, organize, and implement various recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and outings, to promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well‑wellness among our residents. You will work closely with the Recreation Therapy department to develop and implement individualized recreational plans that cater to the unique needs and interests of each resident.
