The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) in New London, CT seeks a Recovery Technician to support a low-intensity residential transitional treatment program.

You’ll monitor activities, assist with daily routines, and respond to client needs with professionalism and compassion. This role offers full-time or per-diem options across Norwich and New London, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Valid and unrestricted Connecticut Driver’s License; with the ability to drive an agency vehicle.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required within six months of employment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed care, recovery‑oriented practice, and SCADD’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Aufgaben

• Orient new clients to the facility and review program rules and expectations.
• Complete all non-clinical admission paperwork and documentation required by the department.
• Screen incoming client property to check for inappropriate items being brought into the facility.
• Observe medication self‑administration and account for all medications on site in accordance with department procedures.
• Manage and coordinate medical, behavioral, emergency, or facility issues quickly and efficiently, notifying the appropriate authority as needed.
• Investigate suspicious or unusual behavior to ensure the safety of clients and the facility.
• Provide clients with clean linens, towels, and personal supplies.
• Check and clean laundry and client areas following Universal Precautions guidelines and department procedures.
• Answer and direct incoming telephone calls as needed.
• Monitor the security of the department regularly.
