Job summary

Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) seeks a compassionate Recovery Technician to help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for clients in Southeast Connecticut. Competitive pay, benefits, and shift differential offered for 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related experience preferred; equivalent education/experience considered.
• Valid and unrestricted Connecticut Driver's License; ability to drive an agency vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Orient new clients to the facility and review program rules.
• Complete admission paperwork and documentation required by the department.
• Screen incoming client property for inappropriate items.
• Observe medication self-administration and account for medications on site per procedures.
• Coordinate medical, behavioral, or facility issues and notify authorities as needed.
• Investigate suspicious or unusual behavior to ensure client and facility safety.
• Provide clients with clean linens, towels, and personal supplies.
• Check and clean laundry and client areas following Universal Precautions and procedures.
• Answer and direct incoming calls as needed.
• Monitor the security of the department regularly.
