Job summary

New Day Recovery is seeking a Full Time Recovery Support Specialist to monitor patients in residential treatment, document daily notes in the EMR, and support patients in attending groups and appointments.

Responsibilities include hourly observations, intake/discharge processing, transporting patients to appointments, and ensuring safety, confidentiality, and proper group attendance in a community-based setting. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization.
• Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
• Understanding of the Agency’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
• Previous experience working with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Employment contingent upon clear UDS and criminal history record.
• Good inter-personal skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation, along with current auto liability insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements set by the State.
• Initial and on-going MVR verification and must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with BayMark’s policy F&A-115.
• Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
• Satisfactory drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete hourly observation checks on a patient assigned to the Recovery Support Specialist.
• Complete EMR notes during the proper shift location in a clear and timely manner.
• Ensure patients act appropriately and attend groups and appointments.
• Complete daily room checks and bag searches when applicable.
• Review patient handbook and orient patient to the program.
• Transport patients to the hospital or off-site appointments when needed.
• Monitor residential and detox phone calls and logging.
• Provide educational and support groups for patients.
