Job summary

Granite Recovery Center is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist to monitor patients, complete EMR entries, and support daily program activities. You will help guide behaviors, encourage attendance at groups and appointments, and ensure safety within the residential setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining observation checks, signing in patients for groups, assisting with admissions/discharges, and transporting patients when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization.
• Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
• Understanding of the Agency’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
• Previous experience working with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Employment contingent upon clear UDS and criminal history record.
• Good inter-personal skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation, along with current auto liability insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements set by the State.
• Initial and on-going MVR verification and must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with BayMark’s policy F&A-115.
• Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
• Satisfactory drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete hourly observation checks on a patient assigned to the Recovery Support Specialist.
• Complete EMR notes during the proper shift location in a clear and timely manner.
• Assist with patient transport to the hospital and stay with them as needed.
• Monitor group participation and ensure patients attend and sign in.
• Review patient handbook and orient patients to the program.
• Conduct daily room checks and secure sign-in sheets.
• Process intakes and discharges along with paperwork.
• Assist with crisis intervention and support patients in engagement with treatment.
