Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist to assist individuals in crisis with peer-led recovery and connections to community resources. The RSS collaborates with multiple disciplines to ensure comprehensive care and accurate EHR documentation.

The role emphasizes personal recovery, trauma-informed approaches, and advocacy. A strong commitment to the mission and a willingness to meet Virginia regulatory requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of personal recovery.
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialist registered with VA Board of Counseling.
• Must pass Virginia background checks and fingerprint clearance.
• Must obtain VA Food Handlers Card.
• Fully vaccinated per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Act as active facilitator (or co-facilitator) in groups and individual recovery.
• Advocate for clients and support resources throughout treatment.
• Lessen seclusions/restraints by building therapeutic alliance and trauma-informed care.
• Identify and utilize community resources to meet recovery needs; support multiple pathways of recovery.
• Collaborate with a multi-discipline team in all aspects of treatment and recovery.
• Document all encounters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Provide empathetic communication and appropriate self-disclosure when helpful.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
