Job summary

Central City Concern in Portland, OR is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to collaborate with the treatment team, assist patients in meeting goals, and support transitions to the next level of care.

The role requires CRM or Peer Wellness Specialist credentials or THW registry, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends; compensation includes union representation under AFSCME and a structured benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with MHACBO as a Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) OR must be a certified Peer Support Specialist (or Peer Wellness Specialist) AND be registered as a Traditional Health Worker on the THW registry.
• Must possess a current driver's license and pass DMV checks; must pass annual training.
• CPR and First Aid certification required prior to start date.
• Experience with individuals with substance use disorders preferred.
• Must meet CCC privileging requirements and comply with drug-free workplace policies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in outreach to engage prospective clients and work in the community.
• Collaborate with treatment team, agency, and clients' support networks.
• Attend clinical staff meetings and participate in client treatment.
• Transport clients to treatment episodes and related appointments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and client progress.
• Provide referrals and case management to access mental health services.
