Job summary

Cenikor Foundation in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Recovery Support Peer Specialist to assist individuals in recovery by advocating for them and providing emotional support. You will help locate medical, housing and employment resources, and document progress during daily interactions.

The role emphasizes building resilience, self-advocacy and connecting clients to community supports. CST training and RSS certification are required; regular group sessions and individual interviews are integral

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be certified Recovery Support Specialist RSS.

Responsibilities

Facilitate groups to help participants face challenges and build recovery skills.
Help participants locate resources (medical, housing, employment) and advocate for their needs.
Conduct individual interviews to assess needs, goals and preferences for services.
Write notes describing client encounters and group experiences.
Support individuals in building relapse prevention and recovery networks.
Engage with the management team to uphold Cenikor's core values and positive culture.
Participate in orientation, training, staff meetings and supervision.
