Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Recovery Specialist to provide non-clinical, peer-based support and help develop recovery care plans for individuals at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. You will use your own lived recovery experience to build trust and connect clients with community resources.

This full-time role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of four years’ experience in recovery principles, willingness to travel within 60 miles, and a Nationally Certified Peer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in recovery principles.
• Ability to travel within a 60-mile radius of the assigned hospital.
• Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients with non-clinical support and share lived recovery experience.
• Conduct client screenings and document information per IFPR guidelines.
• Create individualized recovery support plans based on needs and screening results.
• Connect clients with non-clinical services and community resources.
• Document timely and accurately to support grant compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams and IFPR Patient Navigators to ensure successful navigation to treatment.
