Tri-County Human Services seeks a Peer Specialist to provide consumer-perspective input and serve as a role model for recovery and coping skills. The role includes individualized case management linkage to medical, community, and specialty services as needed.

In line with our mission, staff will treat all clients with dignity and cultural sensitivity. Certification as a Peer Specialist within one year is required, along with completion of mandatory trainings.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of full-time experience in a mental health or addictions setting.
• Pass 80% of core competency requirements.
• Complete mandatory Tri-County trainings and become Certified Peer Specialist within 1 year.
• Knowledge of addictions/mental health treatment programs and supportive services.
• Understanding of causes, nature, and treatment of substance abuse and mental health problems.

Responsabilidades

• Attends and participates in community forms dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues.
• Speaks to individuals regarding services and provides feedback to department and providers.
• Assist providers in developing recovery objectives meeting individual progress toward goals.
• Discussed areas within service delivery needing improvement.
• Engages individuals to discuss experiences to promote understanding and hope for recovery.
• Develop rapport with individuals involved with criminal justice, alcohol, addiction, or behavioral issues.
• Assist enrollment for services provided by community behavioral health providers.
• Help staff identify recovery-conducive environments and lend insight into recovery.
