Jane Pauley Community Health Center is seeking a Peer Technician to join our Behavioral Health Services team. This role welcomes someone with lived recovery experience who is passionate about supporting others and recovery-focused work within an FQHC setting across Indiana.

The Peer Technician collaborates with clinical staff to promote engagement, safety, and compassionate care, while maintaining professional boundaries and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage crisis situations while maintaining professionalism and boundaries.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn EHR systems.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and engage clients during daily activities, breaks and outings.
• Provide peer-based encouragement and recovery-focused support.
• Assist with orientation for new clients regarding program expectations and services.
• Promote harm reduction and recovery principles in all client interactions.
• Liaise between clients and clinical staff, communicating needs and concerns.
• Support clinical staff with therapeutic activities and recovery-focused programming.
• Assist in crisis situations and communicate incidents to the clinical team.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support continuity of care.
• Monitor client safety and facility conditions, and document observations in the EHR.
• Maintain logs and ensure timely documentation.
