Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Inc. in Indiana's Kokomo area seeks a Peer Technician to join our behavioral health team.

This role uses lived recovery experience to support clients, promote wellness, and advance recovery‑oriented services within a compassionate, team‑based setting. You will engage clients, assist with orientation, monitor safety, document in the EHR, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage crisis situations with professionalism and boundaries.
• Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn EHR systems.
• Preferred: CAPRC certification.
• Preferred: Experience in behavioral health or peer support services.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and harm reduction.
• Familiarity with ICAADA Peer Code of Ethics and CAPRC Standards.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Supervise and engage clients during daily activities, breaks, and outings.
• Provide peer-based encouragement and recovery-focused support.
• Assist with orientation for new clients regarding program expectations and services.
• Promote harm reduction in all client interactions.
• Liaise between clients and clinical staff to communicate needs.
• Support clinical staff with recovery-focused activities.
• Assist in crisis situations and report incidents.
• Maintain logs and documentation in the EHR.
• Participate in trainings and maintain professional boundaries.
