Job summary

Anne Arundel County Department of Health seeks a Crisis Stabilization Services Peer Support Specialist (CSS Peer) to partner with recovery housing providers. The role is entry-level, focusing on non-clinical peer support, with responsibilities for planning recovery, connecting to services, and reducing barriers to care.

Responsibilities include engaging participants, coordinating with county health systems, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of sustained recovery from a substance use disorder.
• Familiarity with treatment and community resources supporting recovery.
• Must obtain Certified Peer Support Specialist Certification within 18 months.
• May require a motor vehicle operator's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Engage, educate and support individuals to maximize recovery and harm-reduction efforts.
• Track referrals and ensure smooth handoffs within the county health system.
• Deliver education and outreach across individual and group settings.
• Maintain accurate records in Welligent and ensure required training.
• Collaborate with Systems Planning and Management for discharge procedures.
