Job summary

Sanilac CMH seeks a Peer Support Specialist/Peer Recovery Coach to provide peer support services and advocate for individuals served. Under supervision, you will help clients regain control over recovery and model coping skills to support community participation.

The role requires a High School Diploma and active pursuit of DCH certification; Group Home Certification must be obtained within three months. Crisis Through a Peer Lens training is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Active pursuit of DCH certification as soon as possible.
• Group Home Certification required within 3 months.
• Crisis Through a Peer Lens training is required.
• Peer Support Specialist/Peer Recovery Coach must demonstrate recovery to support others.

Responsibilities

• Teach and role model the value of every individual's recovery experience.
• Assist individuals in articulating personal goals for recovery.
• Attend staff meetings to provide information and training on Recovery and Peer Support.
• Assist individuals in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups.
• Develop and implement WRAP or relapse prevention plan.
• Provide trainings to other professional staff on recovery and peer supports.
