Job summary

Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network seeks a dedicated Peer Support Specialist for Crisis Services. You will provide recovery-focused peer support, engage clients in partnership, and teach recovery and life skills to empower individuals in recovery.

Under supervision, you will document, coordinate with the clinical team, and support community connections. A MI driver’s license is required; certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire, for a role in a 24/7 crisis unit.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DWIHN policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of peer support principles and practices.
• Knowledge of confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides a variety of peer support services and direct interventions.
• Engage individuals in a recovery partnership and identify goals.
• Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Coordinates with the clinical team to arrange services or resources.
• Completes clinical documentation as required.
