Job summary

SeaView Community Services in Seward, Alaska is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for our Recovery Center to mentor clients on their path to lasting recovery. Your lived experience with substance use recovery will guide and empower others as they develop coping skills and resilience.

You will collaborate with clinicians and case managers, lead peer-based support in both individual and group settings, and assist clients in navigating community resources.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with substance use recovery.
• Ability to share your recovery journey in a professional and supportive way.
• Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Offer peer-based support to clients in individual and group settings.
• Use lived experience to build trust and inspire hope in recovery.
• Help clients navigate community resources and develop life skills.
• Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and other team members.
• Assist clients in setting and achieving personal recovery goals.
• Promote self-advocacy and empower clients to take charge of their wellness.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
