Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) seeks a Residential Assistant to support residents at Leland Place in NE Washington, DC. The role focuses on health and safety, treatment goals, and recovery coaching within a residential setting.

Required HS/GED, 3–5 years in social services, CPR/First Aid and Driver's License; Saturday shift, 12:00 PM–12:00 AM (12 hours/week). Equal opportunity employer; safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications

• HS/GED; 3-5 years' experience in social services; experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment.
• Associate's Degree preferred; 5+ yrs experience in social services; experience in addictions or mental health treatment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee house operations and ensure safe and efficient operations; report safety/maintenance concerns.
• Provide clients with support to maintain progress on treatment goals.
• Plan and facilitate client participation in meaningful activity, on-site and in the community.
• Facilitate on-site group meetings and coaching to maintain recovery.
• Monitor and document medications taken by clients.
• Provide crisis management and document incidents per policy.
• Maintain client documentation and complete shift communications.
• Monitor client whereabouts and activities; conduct program environment checks.
• Review client appointments and communicate with treatment team as needed.
• Ensure house chores are completed and assist with program operations.
• Conduct drug screenings and assist with client programming.
• Ensure household supplies are available and transport clients as needed.
• Assist in meal preparation and related tasks.
