AMI Housing, Inc. (AMIH) seeks Peer Support Specialists to provide recovery-oriented, community-based support to individuals facing homelessness and serious mental health challenges.

Leverage lived experience to mentor, advocate, and connect participants with housing, medical care, and social services. You will collaborate with clinical staff, engage clients in recovery plans, and facilitate wellness activities while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Formación

• Lived experience recovering from mental illness or as a caregiver for someone with mental illness/substance use disorder.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Strong computer skills and experience with electronic records systems.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain an active caseload of participants requiring intensive, community-based support.
• Build trusting relationships using recovery principles and empower participants.
• Collaborate with clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated care.
• Provide outreach in the community across homes, shelters, encampments, and hospitals.
• Assist participants in accessing housing resources, healthcare, and benefits.
• Develop individualized recovery and wellness plans aligned with participant goals.
• Provide transportation and accompany to appointments, housing meetings, or court dates.
• Document services accurately in an electronic health record system.
• Report to multiple supervisors and manage responsibilities across teams.
