The role emphasizes confidentiality, ongoing training, and community outreach. A background in mental health or substance use recovery and a HS diploma are required, with certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health or substance use recovery setting.
• Personal recovery experience highly valued.
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish supportive relationships with clients.
• Share recovery experiences with appropriate boundaries.
• Help clients identify recovery goals and strategies.
• Facilitate peer support meetings and group sessions.
• Collaborate with clinical staff for holistic care.
• Advocate for clients to access community resources.
• Maintain confidential documentation of interactions.
