Job summary

ReDiscover seeks a Peer Support Specialist to join the Peer Services program at a mission-driven community mental health center in Missouri. You’ll share lived experience to assist clients in recovery from mental illness or substance use, and connect them with groups, services, and resources to support their wellness goals.

You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to tailor treatment plans, potentially lead support groups, and may assist with transportation in a client-centered role

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills: typing, Word, Excel, and GSuite.

Responsibilities

• Share lived experience of resilience to model recovery.
• Link clients to support groups and community resources.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to develop/modify client treatment plans.
• May facilitate mutual support and education groups.
• May assist with client transportation.
