Job summary

ReDiscover, a nonprofit community mental health center serving southeastern Jackson County, Missouri, seeks a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join its Peer Services program. You will share lived experience to support recovery, link clients to groups, employment and wellness activities, and participate in individualized treatment planning with an interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, completed Missouri Peer Specialist training, a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Must complete Peer Specialist training through Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB).
Must have valid driver’s license, appropriate auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
Excellent customer service with a recovery-focused approach.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Share lived experience of resilience to model recovery for individuals with mental health or substance use challenges.
Link clients with support groups and community resources (employment, health activities).
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to tailor individual treatment plans.
May participate in mutual support/education groups.
May assist with client transportation and safeguard PHI (written and electronic).
