Job summary

ReDiscover, a nonprofit community mental health center in Missouri, is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our Peer Services program. You will share your lived experience to inspire recovery, connect clients to groups and resources, and work within an interdisciplinary team to shape treatment plans.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and certification through the Missouri Credentialing Board.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Willing to work Monday-Friday 11A-7:30P.
Valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle.
Life experiences with a substance use disorder and/or mental illness.
Completed Peer Specialist training through the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB) and passed the certification exam.
Must meet requirements for external community partners.
Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills: typing, Word, Excel, and GSuite.
Commitment to professional development and growth.

Responsibilities

Share lived experience of resilience to model recovery for individuals with mental health or substance use disorders.
Link clients with support groups and community resources to support recovery goals.
Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to develop and modify individual treatment plans.
May participate in mutual support and education groups within ReDiscover programs.
May assist with client transportation as needed.
Safeguard Protected Health Information and maintain confidentiality with documentation.
