Job summary

Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for 50 years as a leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. The Certified Peer Supporter: Employment Specialist role focuses on assisting clients attain employment using lived experience, mentorship, and recovery-based interventions within a trauma-informed setting.

The grant-funded position supports employment services across departments, with work hours varying by service area.

Qualifications

Sustained Recovery demonstrates personal stability and the ability to use lived experience to support client growth and employment success.
State-level peer certification credential or eligibility to obtain certification as required by the role.
Training or experience in job development, employment readiness, or related workforce social services.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals to identify healthy steps they will take to assist in their recovery through employment and job explorations.
Facilitate group and individual interventions that help individuals plan for their recovery.
Provide evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing and Individual Placement and Support to assist a client move forward in employment.
Educate individuals on available services and resources, including peer support programs, One Stop Services, workforce development programs and vocational rehabilitation services.
