Zepf Center is seeking a Per Diem Peer Support Specialist to assist individuals in recovery from mental illness and substance use disorders. This role focuses on providing recovery education, modeling recovery possibilities, and linking individuals to community resources.

The candidate must have a relevant lived experience and a high school diploma or GED, along with certification as an Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter. This position is essential in promoting long-term recovery efforts within the community.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder.
• Ability to assist others in addressing symptoms using positive self-talk.
• Knowledge of recovery processes and facilitating educational groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery education throughout the recovery journey.
• Model recovery possibility for individuals and families.
• Assist in developing treatment and recovery plans.
• Support linkages to community resources.
• Ensure timely documentation of client interactions.

Skills

Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder

Working knowledge of the recovery process

Ability to facilitate recovery using standardized mental health processes

Knowledge of establishing self-help and educational groups

Education
