Job summary

Kids for the Future in Tulsa, OK seeks a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRSS) to empower individuals in recovery from behavioral health or substance use disorders. You will teach coping strategies, support goal setting, and help develop wellness plans and community connections.

The role requires recovery experience, strong communication, and the ability to work cooperatively with staff and clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; must be in recovery from a behavioral health and/or substance use disorder or nicotine recovery.
• One year of experience in consumer advocacy or knowledge in mental health recovery preferred.
• Core competencies related to individuals with co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor the value of every individual’s recovery experience.
• Model coping techniques and self-help strategies.
• Assist consumers in articulating personal recovery goals and plan steps.
• Lead wellness activities and WRAP-based groups with consumers.
• Support development of social skills and natural supports in the community.
