Job summary

Centerstone is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to facilitate recovery groups and activities, help clients articulate personal recovery goals, and support participants in taking holistic steps toward recovery.

The role involves documenting progress in EMR, attending trainings, and assisting with daily activities including transportation. Candidates must have CPRS certification, Lived experience, and a valid driver’s license, with must-acquire endorsements within stated time frames.

Qualifications

• Education level (HS diploma or GED) is required.
• CPRS Certification is required.
• Lived experience with mental illness or substance use disorder is required.
• Minimum of one year of recovery is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must acquire F-endorsement within 30 days of hire.
• If not certified, must become CPRS certified within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verbalize understanding of recovery and articulate it to others.
• Assist clients in identifying strengths in daily living and recovery skills.
• Be professional with mutual respect and encouragement.
• Encourage center involvement by modeling a positive attitude.
• Respect confidentiality and program ethics.
• Facilitate groups promoting recovery through education, advocacy and role modeling.
• Document peer progress in electronic medical records.
• Attend all trainings.
• Assist with daily activities including group prep, meal prep, and transportation via company van.
