Job summary

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Coach in Grand Rapids, MI. You’ll use your lived experience to support individuals in residential and outpatient settings, mento­r­ing and guiding them through recovery and wellness within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include coaching, planning, documentation in EMR, and leading group activities while promoting empowerment and self‑direction in care.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and some behavioral sciences education may be preferred.
• Life experience identifying as a peer or coach is valued.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Current certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist and/or Recovery Coach or ability to obtain Michigan Peer Support Specialist Certification.

Responsibilities

• Offer hope and encouragement using personal recovery experience.
• Participate in clinical and staff meetings and planning processes.
• Assist in person-centered planning and program changes using evidence-based practices.
• Help people served engage in treatment, promote self-advocacy, and support recovery and wellness.
• Document interactions in the EMR and coordinate with the treatment team.
• Lead/group and provide training to staff on recovery-oriented approaches.
