Job summary

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Michigan seeks a part-time Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Coach. You will draw on personal recovery experience to support residents and clients in both residential and outpatient settings, fostering hope and empowerment.

You will participate in planning, support self-advocacy, and document activities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Certification is preferred; some roles require certification after hire.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain Peer Support Certification.
• Experience using motivational interviewing and recovery-based approaches.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.

Responsibilities

• Use personal recovery experience to offer hope and encouragement.
• Participate in clinical and staff meetings as assigned.
• Assist in person-centered planning and coordinate with the treatment team.
• Help people become active participants in their treatment and promote self-advocacy.
• Document interactions in the electronic medical record and coordinate with others.
