Job summary

Livingston County Community Mental Health is seeking a Regular full-time Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Coach to share recovery experience and support individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs. You’ll work in an innovative afterhours center to educate, promote recovery, and connect clients with housing, employment, medical care, and entitlements.

Role includes leading groups, collaborating with experienced colleagues, and adapting to a diverse, supportive team

Qualifications

High school diploma required; recovery experience preferred.
Michigan driver license required.
Certified Peer Support II: Michigan training/certification as Peer Recovery Coach or Peer Support Specialist OR CCAR certification.

Responsibilities

Provide recovery support and education to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs.
Work in an afterhours Substance Abuse Engagement Center to promote recovery and connect to resources.
Lead groups and collaborate with colleagues under supervision; assist with housing, employment, medical care and entitlements.
Shift rotations include second and third shifts on weekdays and weekends, primarily covering third shift.
