Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks a committed Peer Support role to help clients and families access community wellness and care opportunities. The position involves leading group sessions on recovery topics and assisting peers in setting personal recovery goals and building coping skills.

Ideal candidates will have current peer status, CPI training, and a demonstrated recovery experience, with readiness to obtain required certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have primary diagnosis of mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Must have at least two years of sustained recovery.
• Must be current peer and have Peer Support Specialist certification or obtain within six months of hire.
• CPI training completed within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supports clients and families in accessing community wellness, recovery, and care opportunities.
• Facilitates group sessions teaching recovery, wellness, self-esteem, healthy relationships, and coping skills.
• Assists peers in articulating personal recovery goals and developing empowering skills and coping techniques.
