Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's Behavioral Health Assessment team seeks a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to help clients and families access wellness and recovery resources in the community. You will lead group sessions and model hopeful coping strategies.

The role requires personal recovery experience, current peer status, and CPI training within 60 days of hire, with a high school diploma or GED. Background screening applies.

Qualifications

• Requires a primary diagnosis of mental illness and/or substance use disorder and/or experience gained through a family members mental health/substance use.
• Minimum of two years of sustained/stable recovery.
• Current experience as a peer.
• Active Peer Support Specialist certification or must obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
• Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within sixty (60) days of hire.
