Qualifications

• Must have own mental health challenges.
• Experience as a Peer Support Specialist or in psychiatric/human services preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, encouragement and guidance leveraging your lived experience.
• Engage with individuals through active listening and sharing recovery journeys.
• Teach and role model recovery values; promote empowerment and self-advocacy.
• Maintain confidentiality, rights and dignity of the individuals served at all times.
• Advocate for patients and assist in making decisions and developing empowerment skills.
• Promote integration of individuals into their chosen communities and least restrictive environment.
