Job summary

Gulf Coast Center in Galveston County seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to provide peer support services to clients with substance use disorders. The CPS guides recovery, acts as a consumer advocate, and helps clients develop and implement personal recovery plans in outpatient settings.

You will facilitate weekly groups, connect clients with community resources, coordinate transportation, and collaborate with staff to promote trauma-informed, equitable care across our programs.

Qualifications

• High School or GED completion.
• Certified Peer Specialist certification preferred or candidate may earn CPS within one year.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate weekly peer support groups to promote recovery.
• Assist clients in articulating recovery goals and developing plans.
• Coordinate transportation for clients to appointments and services.
• Provide support in outpatient settings and ensure services are delivered.
• Maintain agency compliance with policies and safety guidelines.
