Job summary

Gulf Coast Center in Brazoria and Galveston Counties seeks an ACT Criminal Justice Peer Support Specialist to provide mental health and substance use peer support within the ACT program and regular ACT team. The role supports clients at risk for arrest and jail recidivism, including court-ordered Mental Health Specialty Court supervision.

You will model recovery, facilitate peer groups, document in the electronic health record, and help clients develop recovery plans and pathways to community

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED completion.
Must have attended and completed substance use disorder and mental health peer trainings through Via Hope within 1 year or hire.
Must maintain continuing education credits for the PRS certification.
Must have at least 2 years of personal recovery.

Responsibilities

Delivers services in accordance with organizational standards, aiming for direct service time goals.
Completes accurate documentation within 24 business hours in the electronic health record.
Articulates personal recovery goals with clients and helps develop recovery plans.
Helps clients create Wellness Plans across eight dimensions of wellness.
Facilitates peer support groups and provides outreach for community referrals.
Maintains compliance with GCC policies and participates in team meetings.
