Job summary
Nexus Family Recovery Center seeks a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist to help clients access services, develop recovery plans, and participate in recovery activities. You will provide empathetic coaching, transportation assistance, and court-appearance support as needed.
The role requires personal recovery with at least one year of sobriety, a Texas driver’s license, and active certification as a Recovery Support Peer Specialist, with HIPAA compliance and strong communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current valid Texas Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Must be in a personal recovery program with at least 1 year of sobriety.
- Must have and maintain or obtain Texas State certification of Recovery Support Peer Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in accessing community services, referrals, scheduling, transportation, and attendance.
- Provide coaching and support to develop and implement recovery plans.
- Attend court appointments as a support/advocate.
- Deliver crisis support and relapse prevention skills.
- Plan and lead recovery activities and self-help groups.
- Maintain client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
