Job summary

Pine Rest invites experienced Peer Support Specialists to join our care teams in residential and outpatient settings, drawing on your recovery journey to offer hope and mentorship within a multidisciplinary group.

You will support clients in pursuing recovery, access to benefits, housing, budgeting, and wellness planning, while upholding a recovery-oriented approach and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED; 6 months post-high School in behavioral sciences may be preferred.
• Life experience identifying as peer/coach.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist and/or Recovery Coach or ability to obtain Michigan Peer Support Specialist Certification after hire.

Responsibilities

• Use personal recovery experience to offer hope and reassurance to program participants.
• Participate in clinical and staff meetings as assigned.
• Assist in person-centered planning processes for persons served.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement program changes using evidence-based practices.
• Help people served become active participants in their treatment and advocate for themselves.
