Job summary

Gandara Center in Brockton, MA is seeking a Recovery Coach to support individuals in early recovery through non-clinical, peer-to-peer guidance. You will help navigate the system of care and connect clients with recovery resources and community supports.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and collaborative development of recovery plans. A valid driver’s license and lived recovery experience are required, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience and 2 years acknowledged continuous sobriety.
• Experience and knowledge regarding the addiction treatment service system.
• Must have successfully participated in recovery coach academy.
• Eligible to be a certified recovery coach.
• Experience with adults diagnosed with a substance use disorder.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable vehicle for daily travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community activities that support recovery.
• Demonstrate relapse prevention competencies.
• Provide membership program orientation services and requirements.
• Conduct confidential, gender- and culturally responsive supports; trauma-informed.
• Develop individualized recovery plans with recoverees and set goals.
• Meet with recoverees for coordination with external agencies as needed.
• Link recoverees to community services and resources.
• Provide education on finances, housing stability, health, and life skills.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Model recovery principles and promote attainable recovery.
