Job summary

Vigo County Health Department is seeking a Recovery Coach in Terre Haute, IN. The role provides non-clinical services to aid individuals in establishing and maintaining recovery from addiction, emphasizing respect, self-direction, and empowerment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of personal recovery experience; CAPRC is preferred but not required. A valid Indiana driver’s license and the ability to pass a drug test are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years demonstrated personal recovery experience and engaged in a recovery network.
• Prior Completion of the Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CAPRC) certification preferred but not required.
• Experience facilitating recovery groups.
• Must have knowledge of recovery support systems, including 12-step groups; and providing direct service.
• Must Possess valid Indiana driver’s license and demonstrate a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of trauma informed care.
• Provides peer support and mentoring to assist members in developing skills.
• Collects participant data and conducts follow-up surveys to ensure engagement.
• Helps navigate recovery support systems and resources.
• Facilitates recovery and education groups as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical practice.
