The role focuses on creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment for individuals affected by substance use, mental health challenges, and the criminal justice system.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist required.
• Current Recovery Coach certification or plan to obtain within 3 months.
• Belief in recovery potential and commitment to peer support.
• Lived experience with substance use recovery, mental health challenges, or reentry.
• Commitment to harm reduction principles and understanding of their application.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement harm reduction initiatives within the Recovery Hub.
• Provide one-to-one peer support and outreach to program participants.
• Facilitate recovery classes and workshops for staff and community.
• Build partnerships with local health organizations and advocacy groups.
• Track program outcomes and assist with reporting and data entry.
