Job summary

Tri-County Human Services, Inc. is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to provide consumer-centered input and role modeling for recovery. You will assist with individualized case management and linkages to medical, community, and specialty services as needed.

As part of the care team, you will attend treatment meetings, advocate for clients, and support recovery-oriented planning while maintaining sensitivity to diverse backgrounds. A high school diploma and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 1 year of mental health or addictions experience.
• Must pass 80% of core competency requirements.
• Certification as a Certified Peer Specialist within 1 year of starting.
• Knowledge of addictions/mental health treatment and supportive services.

Responsibilities

• Attend community forums on substance abuse and mental health.
• Discuss services with individuals and provide feedback to providers.
• Develop recovery objectives aligned with individual goals.
• Promote recovery by discussing experiences with participants.
• Assist in enrollment for community behavioral health services.
• Support peer groups using the Illness Management and Recovery model.
