Qualifications

• Experience providing peer support in mental health/addiction settings.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse individuals.
• Ability to link clients to medical, community and specialty services.

Responsibilities

• Attends community forums addressing substance abuse and mental health issues.
• Speaks with individuals about services and provides feedback to departments.
• Assist providers in developing recovery objectives for individuals.
• Discusses areas for improvement in the provider's service delivery with individuals.
• Engages individuals to share experiences to promote understanding and hope for recovery.
• Develops rapport with individuals involved in the criminal justice system or with behavioral health challenges.
• Assists with enrollment for services offered by community behavioral health providers.
• Lends insight into how to foster recovery in various environments.
• Supports peer group activities using illness management and recovery concepts.
• Completes and maintains personal recovery plans with goals and actions.
