Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliations Specialist to join our accounting team in Birmingham, AL. This role ensures accuracy and integrity of financial records through daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations, investigating discrepancies as needed.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience with Excel and ERP/accounting software.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
2+ years of accounting, finance, banking, or reconciliation experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
Experience with ERP systems or accounting software.

Responsibilities

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
Research, investigate, and resolve account discrepancies and outstanding reconciling items.
Analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve transaction issues and improve processes.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
Identify opportunities to streamline reconciliation processes and improve efficiency.
Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
