Qualifications

• 4+ years recertification experience in affordable housing
• Knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC and HUD
• Experience with EIV reports
• Understanding HUD/Public Housing policies and procedures
• COS certification preferred
• Notary public preferred

Responsibilities

• Process initial, annual, and interim recertifications and calculate rents per HUD guidelines
• Identify income reporting discrepancies and adjust rents accordingly
• Review applicant files for Section 8 eligibility
• Prepare third party verification forms and maintain files
• Review tenant ledgers and monitor arrears
• Respond to HUD concerns and provide outreach to properties
• Coordinate with property staff and travel to properties as needed

Job description

The Recertification Specialist will review all resident files within the portfolio. The Recertification Specialist will apply knowledge of regulatory requirements for properties to ensure Company meets compliance standards. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for overseeing complaince, and responding to HUD concerns, and providing outreach to the property.

Pay range $24 - $26/hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Process initial, annual, and interim recertification's and calculate retroactive rent while conforming to HUD regulations and HUD guidelines
• Calculate rents for annual and interim recertification
• Identify households with income reporting discrepanices and make rent adjustments
• Review applicant files and determine Section 8 eligibility
• Follow LIHTC and Section 8 guidelines
• Notify residents of upcoming recertification's
• Schedule initial interviews for recertification's
• Prepare third party verification forms
• Maintaining residents' files and paperwork
• Review tenant ledgers for arrears
• 4+ years recertification specialist experience
• Knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC and HUD
• Experience with EIV reports
• Must have knowledge of HUD/Public Housing/Tax Credit policies and procedures
• Detail oriented and the ability to operate on a deadline driven schedule
• Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Notary public is preferred
• COS certification
• Experience with MOR
• Yardi experience
• Microsoft Office and Excel Experience

Working Conditions

• Ability to work periodic flexible hours is required. Ability to travel by plane and automobile is required
