RECEPTIONIST/SECRETARY
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school education with further training in secretarial skills
- Strong public relations skills
- Ability to handle multiple office assignments
- Must be able to pass a typing (40 wpm) and proofreading test
- Must demonstrate proficiency in word processing software and other identified programs
- Proficiency in oral and written communication
- Proficient in the use of voice mail and e-mail
- Loyalty and discretion
- Clerical duties as assigned

JOB SUMMARY
To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Types correspondence including memoranda, letters, and reports.
- Answers and directs telephone calls from principals, teachers, parents, and the general public.
- Forwards complaints to appropriate personnel.
- Responds to requests for information, where appropriate.
- Processes incoming requests for information and assistance.
- Maintains accurate and complete records and reports.
- Processes and distributes Central Office mail on daily basis.
- Operates a variety of office equipment including photocopier, facsimile machine, computer and postage meter, etc.
- Inputs and retrieves data and text.
- Organizes and maintains disk storage and filing.
- Follows district’s overtime policy and fixed asset procedures at all times.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
- Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school/office climate.
- Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students and administration.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
