Job summary

The Cheesecake Factory Bakery is seeking a Receiving Supervisor to oversee warehouse operations, ensuring safe practices and accurate inventory control. You will supervise staff, enforce FEFO procedures, and collaborate with management to optimize logistics across our bakery facilities.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in consumer manufacturing, 1+ year in supervision, and strong Excel skills with experience in inventory documentation. Forklift certification is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Consumer Manufacturing industry.
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record in logistics documentation, inventory control, and task delegation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise receiving and warehouse activities, including truck unloading and ingredient issuing.
• Maintain a clean, secure warehouse environment and enforce safety standards.
• Regulate inventory with FEFO and ensure proper tagging and open date labeling.
• Document all outgoing ingredients and report discrepancies to management.
• Accurately count inventories and communicate variances to manager and buyer.

The Receiving Supervisor reports to the Manager of Materials Management and directs all receiving and warehouse activities. This would include truck unloading, issuing ingredients, delegating tasks, and supervising warehouse workers.

Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:

• Follow and enforce all safety standards. Must always be alert and use best common judgment.
• Supervise the warehouse maintaining a clean and litter free environment, i.e. sweeping, mopping the floor is mandatory as part of housekeeping.
• Ensure the warehouse is always secure, i.e. checking all access doors and making sure it is always closed. Question, control, and report people who do not belong to the warehouse.
• Responsible for all ingredients making sure the ingredients are properly organized and rotated applying first expired first out method (FEFO). Also, to make sure all open ingredients are taped off with open date applied (partial tags).
• Responsible for documenting all outgoing ingredients.
• Ensure all inventories are counted precisely and report any discrepancies to the manager and buyer immediately.
• The ability to stay focused and alert; clear and concise communication; utilize basic math skills; audit paperwork; team player; use of common sense understanding to carry out routine tasks with appropriate follow-up.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time; close vision; ability to hear, speak, walk, bend, stoop, reach and twist. Ability to work in confined and/or closed area.

What we require:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Consumer Manufacturing Industry.
• A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory level role.
• A proven track record in documentation for all logistics operations, inventory control, procedure, task delegation and employee development.
• Experience with inventory scanning systems preferred.
• Must be an excellent problem-solver with ability to communicate with senior management as well as motivate team members to meet departmental objectives and organizational skills.
• Must demonstrate strong Excel proficiency, including downloading, manipulating, and analyzing data to identify inventory issues, provide status reporting, and recommend necessary actions.
• Must be capable of building and maintaining an engaged, high functioning team and providing the motivation needed to drive performance.
• Must be Forklift Certified.
