Job summary

Rural King in Henderson, KY is seeking a Receiving Lead to oversee the efficient and accurate receipt of freight, ensuring safe unloading from delivery trucks and proper documentation. You will coordinate the receiving team, maintain inventory records, and partner with purchasing and logistics to keep merchandise moving smoothly from truck to shelf.

Strong organization and proactive problem solving are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate unloading, sorting, and processing of incoming freight in accordance with company guidelines and safety protocols.
• Inspect incoming merchandise for damages, discrepancies, and proper labeling, addressing issues and coordinating with relevant partners.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and update the inventory system to reflect received goods.
• Perform a daily analysis of negative inventory and investigate causes to propose solutions.
• Work with purchasing and logistics to coordinate flow of merchandise and resolve receiving-related issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area to support a safe work environment.
• Proactively identify and address potential receiving challenges to prevent disruptions to the supply chain.
• Facilitate store-to-store and UPS transfers efficiently.
• Coordinate backhaul requests and proper pallet wrapping for loading.
• File receiving paperwork and complete Daily Forklift Checklist.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment.
• Use general office equipment (phone, copier, fax, calculator, computer).
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments.
• Engage in training programs and learning initiatives to stay current on developments.
• Provide friendly, proactive support to internal and external stakeholders.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
