Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Receiving Lead for the 2nd shift to oversee shipping, receiving, storing, and issuing materials for manufacturing operations. You will lead a team, maintain inventory records, and ensure safety compliance in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Under the Receiving Lead, you’ll train staff, supervise material movement, resolve issues with suppliers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen activities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; five years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to learn, operate, and train others in safe use of material handling equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Oracle and eKanban systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize daily workload for department to facilitate accurate material movement.
  • Direct materials/warehouse personnel to meet production material needs while ensuring transactional integrity.
  • Resolve supplier issues regarding production material via collaboration with Supply Chain Planning and/or Strategic Sourcing.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen participation.
  • Investigate Oracle and eKanban inventory and/or transaction issues while driving to root cause.
  • Maintain FIFO inventory rotation for applicable parts.
  • Train materials/warehouse personnel in warehousing, safety procedures, Oracle, and use of scanning guns.
  • Recertify staff on fork truck and material handling vehicles.
  • Facilitate flow of material to support production at required inventory organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with Copeland policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily cycle counts as required.
  • Fill in for any departmental function due to absences.

General Summary

Under the direction of the Receiving distribution Lead, oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, storing, issuing and delivery of materials to manufacturing operations. Maintain receiving and inventory control records; serve as a lead over one or more assigned materials/warehouse functions; train and provide lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff; and ensure compliance of safety rules and regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prioritize daily workload for department to facilitate accurate material movement
  • Directs materials/warehouse personnel to meet production material needs while ensuring transactional integrity
  • Resolve supplier issues regarding production material via collaboration with Supply Chain Planning and/or Strategic Sourcing
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen participation
  • Investigate Oracle and eKanban inventory and/or transaction issues while driving to root cause
  • Maintain FIFO inventory rotation for applicable parts
  • Train materials/warehouse personnel in all aspects of their job responsibilities including warehousing, safety procedures, Oracle, and use of scanning guns
  • Recertify company personnel on fork truck and material handling vehicles
  • Facilitate appropriate flow of material to support production at required inventory organizations
  • Ensure compliance with all Copeland policies and procedures
  • Perform daily cycle counts as required
  • Demonstrate working knowledge to fill in for any departmental function due to absences
  • All other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  • High School Diploma required and five years of experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to learn, operate, and train others in the safe use of various material handling equipment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Capability to maneuver and transact within Oracle i.e. receipt entry, material transfers, eKanban, etc. Ability to communicate across multiple levels of the organization
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
  • Obtain and maintain valid fork truck license
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing/Warehouse environment with exposure to noise, fork trucks, and stretch wrap machines
  • Position requires frequent lifting, bending and twisting
